In
2002 my work was noted as being a "very well needed entry onto
the New York art scene" (name of publication that quote came
from). I also curated an art show at the City College of New York,
assisting Japanese-American artist Michi Itami.
Over the years the various expressions my art has taken have been
demonstrated through media such as watercolor, acrylic and pastel.
It also encompasses print medias including intaglio, etching, lithography,
woodcut, silkscreen, monoprint and monotype.
My vision with my work is to achieve all the feelings that we all
experience. I aim to allow my audience to personalize those emotions
so that they mean something specific for them.
Matthias currently divides his time between homes in New York City
and the Catskills in upstate New York. His work is now being shown
exclusively in the Hudson Valley region at the Chace-Randall Gallery
in Andes, NY.
